The President of Uzbekistan calls for further enhancing practical cooperation with Azerbaijan
On August 2, President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev received a delegation of the Republic of Azerbaijan participating in the events of the First Multilateral Meetings of Ministers of Uzbekistan, Azerbaijan and Türkiye taking place in Tashkent.
The Azerbaijani side was represented by Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov, Minister of Economy Minister Mikayil Jabbarov and Minister of Digital Development and Transport Rashad Nabiyev.
Issues of further development of Uzbekistan – Azerbaijan strategic partnership and enhancing practical cooperation by the agreements of the leaders of the two fraternal states were discussed.
The Azerbaijani Foreign Minister conveyed sincere greetings and good wishes of Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev to the President of Uzbekistan.
The parties noted with satisfaction the progress since the recent summit. Last month, mutual visits of delegations actively continued to promote projects in the oil, gas and chemical industries, sericulture and other areas of agriculture, as well as within the framework of national industrialization programs.
A regular meeting of the bilateral Intergovernmental Commission was successfully held in Tashkent the day before.
Issues of promoting efficient transport communications in the region were considered first of all at the meeting of foreign ministers, ministers of trade and transport of the three countries.
The President of Uzbekistan emphasized the importance of providing full support and accelerating projects and programs of mutually beneficial cooperation, including by creating the Uzbekistan – Azerbaijan Investment Fund, stimulating the process of establishing business contacts, holding the First Forum of Regions and an industrial exhibition, creating conditions for cooperation at free economic zones.
Issues related to preparations for the Summit of the Organization of Turkic States in November this year in Uzbekistan were also considered.
