Ongoing constitutional reforms in Uzbekistan are highly appreciated

First Deputy Speaker of the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis Akmal Saidov met with a delegation led by UNESCO Assistant Director-General for Communication and Information Tawfik Jelassi.

Dr. Tawfik Jelassi noted that the International Conference “Artificial Intelligence, Electronic Governance and Freedom of Information”, held in Tashkent on September 28-29 this year, will further strengthen cooperation between Uzbekistan and UNESCO and other international organizations to prevent and combat information problems.

The parties exchanged views on the work carried out in Uzbekistan on the development of a unified Information Code, the use of information resources and information systems, the free and unhindered search, research and dissemination of information.

The guest expressed his readiness to assist in the scientific and practical examination of the code being developed by UNESCO.

Following the talks, Dr. Tawfik Jelassi invited the deputies of the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis to the Global Conference on Internet for democracy to be held in February 2023, in Paris, France.
