Meeting with representatives of the Turkish SETA Foundation
The International Institute for Central Asia jointly with the Foundation for Political, Economic and Social Research of Türkiye (SETA) held a roundtable discussion on “A new stage of strategic partnership between Uzbekistan and Türkiye analytical institutions”.
The participants discussed current issues of cooperation between Uzbekistan and Türkiye and exchanged views on the issues of intensifying a multifaceted partnership based on mutual respect, friendship and trust.
It was emphasized that thanks to the political will and joint efforts of the leaders of Uzbekistan and Türkiye Shavkat Mirziyoyev and Recep Tayyip Erdogan, the relations between the two countries today have reached the level of a comprehensive strategic partnership.
The growth of trade indicators between the two countries was noted, which in recent years has increased by 2.5 times. Investment cooperation indicators have grown 70 times. Since the beginning of this year, investments totaling about half a billion dollars have been disbursed. The number of joint ventures increased 5 times and exceeded 2,000.
It was noted that interaction in science, education, art, cinema, tourism and information is expanding.
Foreign experts noted the high interest of Turkish research institutes, especially SETA, in establishing close ties with Uzbekistan think tanks.
SETA representatives informed about the activities of their Foundation, pointing to its leading position among the think tanks of the country.
Mutual interest was expressed in joint consideration at the expert level of issues of further enhancing the partnership between Uzbekistan and Türkiye in the political, trade, economic, transport and logistics, cultural, humanitarian, agricultural and other fields.
