Uzbekistan celebrates State Language Day
The Committee on Interethnic Relations and Friendly Ties with Foreign Countries organized a spiritual and enlightenment event on Uzbek Language Day.
The event was organized by the Committee on Interethnic Relations and Friendly Ties with Foreign Countries under the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan together with the Union of Writers of Uzbekistan, the Republican Center for Spirituality and Enlightenment and national cultural centers.
According to the Committee, the event aims at increasing and strengthening the authority of the Uzbek language in the public life of our people and the international arena.
As part of the event, lectures were heard on “Language is the spiritual wealth of the nation”, “Preservation and development of the language is the elevation of the nation”, and “Education and development of the Uzbek language”.
In their speeches, the chairmen of the national cultural centers noted that giving the Uzbek language the status of the state language was one of the important steps towards achieving the national independence of our people without discrimination against the rights of representatives of other nationalities living in the country.
“Uzbekistan has created all the conditions for the development of all languages spoken by representatives of different nationalities, at the same time, the Uzbek language as the state language unites all of us. The country has all the necessary conditions for learning the Uzbek language. It is known that any knowledge enriches a person. The culture of the people, traditions and customs are known through the language. But the most important thing is to teach the state language to young people so that they feel like a full member of society”, Chairman of the Polish Cultural Center of Uzbekistan “Svetlitsa Polska” Oleg Skuridin said.
A concert took place with the participation of art groups from national cultural centers.
